Day 01 

Arrival/ Mombasa/ Diani Beach

Upon arrival you will be met by our customer service representative who will then assist you to your transfer vehicles for the drive to your beach hotel. Upon arrival enjoy a non alcoholic welcome drink followed by a short briefing session on your vacation.

Day 02

Mombasa

Wake up to the sounds of the Indian Ocean for a relaxed breakfast at the main hotel restaurant. After breakfast, embark on excursion to Mombasa old Town and Fort Jesus.

Fort Jesus is perhaps the most popular attraction in the Old Town. Constructed by the Portuguese during 1593-1596 and designed by an Italian architect, Cairati, Fort Jesus is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Although it is partly damaged, Fort Jesus is a fine display of 16th- century Portuguese military architecture.

Originally used by the Portuguese, the imposing structure rests upon a coral ridge at the entrance of the old town harbor, and its strategic location has resulted in many battles for its control. The site has also been used as soldier barracks and a prison before being obtained by the Trustees of the Kenya National Museum in 1958, and the on-site museum was opened in 1962.

Enjoy the exhibition of the wide collection of ceramics and pottery reflecting the various cultures that traded along the coast. Within the compound are many fascinating battlements and derelict buildings including the Omani house, a building with Omani jewelry and displays on Swahili life After the fort, your guide leads you into alleys of Old Town, the original Mombasa city that was built in the 13th century and still maintains many significant architectural features of the time, such as filigree timber balconies, beautifully carved wooden doors, Indian and colonial designs and more than 20 mosques, and in 1985, the area received protected status as a conservation project to preserve the historically significant buildings.

Spend today relaxing at your beach hotel or on the beach.

Day 04

Mombasa to Tsavo East

After a sumptuous breakfast, depart for the nearby Tsavo East National Park. Arrive for lunch followed by an early evening game drive to return back to lodge/camp after sunset.

Dinner and overnight at Voi Wildlife lodge / Manyatta Camp (Fullboard).

Tsavos’s abundant wildlife will always excite you and the sight of dust-red elephant wallowing, rolling and spraying each other with the midnight blue waters of palm-shaded Galana River is one of the most evocative images in Africa. This, along with the 300 kilometers long Yatta Plateau, the longest lava flow in the world, make for an adventure unlike any other in the Tsavo East.

The park forms the largest protected area in Kenya and is home to most of the larger mammals, vast herds of dust – red elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard, pods of hippo, crocodile, waterbucks, lesser Kudu, gerenuk and the prolific bird life features 500 recorded species.

Day 05

Tsavo West

After breakfast drive out of the park to the nearby Tsavo West National Park. Today you will spend the whole day in the park with a picnic lunch stop.

Return to your lodge/camp for Dinner and overnight Voi Wildlife Lodge/ Manyatta Camp (Fullboard).

Tsavo West is reknown for its volcanic features which were formed in the same era when volcanic activities were prevalent in the Kilimanjaro area. The park’s beautiful features range Mzima Springs – where fifty million gallons of crystal clear water gush out of from the under parched lava rock to the Shetani lava flows – the world’s longest lava flow.

It’s beautiful, rugged wilderness and savannah ecosystem comprises of open grasslands, scrublands, and Acacia woodlands, belts of riverine vegetation and rocky ridges including the Poacher’s Lookout where visitors can see the teeming herds in the plains below.

Tsavo West offers some of the most magnificent game viewing in the world and attractions include elephant, rhino, hippos, lions, cheetah, leopards, buffalos, diverse plant and bird species including the threatened corncrake and near threatened Basra Reed Warbler.

Day 06

Tsavo East

Wake up to an early morning game drive before returning to lodge for breakfast and an morning relaxation within the lodge.

Alternatively take a whole day game drive with picnic lunch, return before sunset for Dinner and overnight Voi Wildlife Lodge/Man eaters Camp (Full board).

Day 07 / Day 08

Amboseli

From Tsavo drive to Amboseli National Park, famous for its big game and scenic beauty with the landscape dominated by the Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Wildlife here includes the zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, impala, caracal and serval cat, lion, leopard, cheetah, buffalo, wild dog among others. There are also over 400 species of birds, including the bee-eater, kingfisher, African fish eagle, martial eagle and pygmy falcon. Visitors mainly come to watch the huge herds of elephants. The bull elephants have some of the largest tusks in all of Kenya. Visitors can also enjoy excellent views of Mt Kilimanjaro and Meru.

Day 09

Tsavo East to Diani Beach

Today we return back to the beach. Depart after breakfast to the coast and spend your day relaxing with various activities at your beach hotel.

Gedi Ruins

Breakfast and depart driving northwards across the iconic Nyali Bridge to Kilifi and further to the village of Gede in Watamu. Spend the day here with a lunch break at a nearby local restaurant – own cost – Late afternoon drive back to Mombasa. Afternoon can be spent shopping.

At Gedi you are taken back to a 12th-century Swahili settlement that served as a model of other townships along the coast of East Africa. Evidence shows that portions of the original settlement were rebuilt during the 15th and 16th centuries as a result of an increasing population from surrounding coastal villages and towns.

The mosques, palaces, houses and other structures demonstrate the abundant growth of wealth that was enjoyed by the townspeople until the 15th century, andthe mystery of the Gede lies in the ultimate abandonment of the fruitful and thriving town two centuries later.

Studies of the ruins have revealed many factors that may have motivated the people of Gedi to leave behind the idyllic setting of the beautiful rural metropolis that was built within an ancient forest, such as the 1589 raids of the Wazimba along the coast of East Africa, the eventual demise of the Sheikh of Malindi and Portuguese loss of Mombasa in 1593 and the ever- present threat of a raid by the Galla tribespeople of Somalia. Archaeologists have also found that the inhabitants deepened the well outside the Great Mosque, an indication that the water table was growing significantly harder to reach, leaving the people without a necessary resource.
